Of the various whip types I could have given Evie, fire seemed to make the most sense. Sure, she was sired by Dracula, so one of three whip types would have worked -- fire, ice, or lightning -- the one I used for her was fire for a simple, practical reason: her colors are primarily red and yellow. If I wanted all her items and whips to be stored on her basic sprite sheet, I had to pick one that would work with her colors.
Sure, lightning might have worked if I made it yellow, but traditionally I've had lightning effects be bluish (see Olrox's recent attacks as an example). Recoloring it to yellow didn't make as much sense to me.
I could have done a thorn whip, too... Grey and red... shoot, I really could have done that. Damn it.
