The real question is whether he's not looting because: 1) he might be prosecuted, 2) because it's irrelevant to his quest to defeat the 'magical' plague, or 3) because he's figured out that he's so rich looting the entire store wouldn't make a noticeable difference to his wealth?

I don't the looting was ever about having wealth, it was probably about having something he didn't have. So instead I go with the idea that there is nothing in the store that he hasn't already acquired, thanks to mass production.
