DSWC Villains Introduction #12: Grand Schemes!
It makes sense. Again, easy, clear, concise, to-the-point. The robots were super-powerful and nothing on Earth could touch them. Plainly, Wily, having control of the robots, had all the power. It was only because Light reprogrammed one of his service bots to be a warrior bot that Wily was defeated.
So what does he do? He goes back to the drawing board and makes more robots that were even more powerful. Mega Man goes out, works ever harder, and defeats Wily again. At this point we have to think "well, okay, plainly Wily has tried that bag of tricks twice, and it's just not working. Time to stop." But no. Capcom had a formula and they weren't going to deviate from it. They would use that same scheme for another eight games.
It makes a evil genius look pretty dumb. The definition of insanity? Trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...
These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
