Plainly not all the characters from the "outside" continuity (that realm where the chracters exist as actors in a web comic) are all that hip to pop-culture. Of course, Olrox is German. If Frankie had gone on about Volkwagons or Depeche Mode this might have been a different conversation.
Although, thanks to Kevin Smith and his movie, Mallrats, Volkwagons are eternally tied with taking it up the rear. So... maybe it would have ended on exactly the same punchline.
